The Territorial Core are part of the territorial collaboration and cooperation network of the Coastal Observatory. They are made up of non-governmental non-profit organizations, local environmental conservation organizations of a mixed nature (civil / public) or by natural persons and are coordinated by an organization known for its contributions to the protection, conservation or defense of natural and cultural heritage. of the coastal zone in a specific territory of the country. In turn, the organizations that participate in the Territorial Core They share the vision and mission of the Observatory of the Coast, for which alliances are formed for efforts to protect and sustainably transform the coastal zone.

How to participate in the Territorial Core?

Organizations interested in joining this territorial collaboration network must send a formal application to join the Coastal Observatory or the organization that coordinates an existing Territorial Core. Territorial Core: Central Coast

The central Litoral Nucleus is the first to be established at the beginning of 2020 and is of special importance given that the Coastal Observatory is built and positions itself in its objectives, through the collaborative and generous work of the organizations that comprise it, especially the CACs. from Algarrobo and Cartagena. Initially it was coordinated by the Ecosta Foundation and since June 2021 it is coordinated by the COSMOS Foundation, both emblematic organizations in the protection of the natural heritage of the area.

Territorial Core: Litoral Quintero-Puchuncaví

The Quintero-Puchuncaví Territorial Nucleus was formed in May 2020 and is coordinated by the NGO Salvemos Quirilluca and made up of the organizations that make up this movement. Currently, the NGO Salvemos Quirilluca is leading the cause of protection of the Quirilluca cliffs that keep a valuable paleontological heritage today in danger of disappearance due to real estate pressure.

Territorial Core: Litoral Maule

The Maule Territorial Core was formed in May 2021 and is coordinated by the NGO Territorio a Escala Humana, who together with the organizations made up of the CAC de Pelluhue, Inalaf Constitución and EcoAnümn will be joining forces to protect the valuable natural and cultural heritage of the Maule coast, today affected by real estate pressure, pollution, intervention in its basins, risks and the absence of effective mechanisms to control the degradation of its resources.

The Coquimbo-La Serena Territorial Core was formed in mid-2021 with the support of the NGO Surgencia, made up of professional women who have put their knowledge at the disposal of the community and the protection of the environment in the area, currently affected by multiple stressors.
