The Coastal Observatory is a technical-scientific platform that is born and is coordinated by the Institute of Geography, Institute of Urban and Territorial Studies, and the Department. of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering of the Catholic University of Chile, the Coastal Station of Marine Research ( ECIM ), the National Research Center for Integrated Management of Natural Disasters ( CIGIDEN ) and the Center for Sustainable Urban Development ( CEDEUS ), who currently form its Steering Committee.
